This course helps individuals better understand the various Employee Resource Group (ERG) components and equips them with the skills needed to successfully lead or collaborate with ERGs. Course components are designed to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of ERGs and delve into their intricacies and resulting outputs.The instruction, discussions, and exercises are crafted to ensure that the participants acquire knowledge through the exploration of diverse perspectives. Course discussions include:
- Brief history of and introduction to ERGs
- ERG business case and business alignment
- Structure: ERG charter, enterprise structure, group structure, ERG, and executive sponsor roles and responsibilities
- Internal partners/collaborations: Communications, HR, DEI, IT, leadership
- External partners: Community engagement (also internal community relations)
- Management and operations: ERG launch, recruitment, programming, engagement, retention, growth
- Evaluation: metrics, shared outcomes
